While the dogs are at the shelter They get premium care and lots of love daily.

Great staff, they all care so much about their animals instead of their paycheck. For a shelter I don't think it gets much better and I love that they have programs to help people meet the animals and for the animals to be used to people paying attention to them with good will.

Its true that they never answer the phone and dont call you back if you see a dog online you want to adopt. Ive tried several times leaving messages, oh well I already have two. Anyway, One time I was getting gas at the RR pass gas station and I saw a huge yellow lab wandering around. No one was paying it any mind, people are scummy when it comes time to actually do anything real. I drove over to him slowly and he hopped right by me into my car when I stepped out to greet him. I drove around slowly for an hour in the parking lot with him in my car with his huge head sticking out lol he was so cute, I asked every person we saw if they knew where he came from, and I left detailed notes at all of the businesses there. Not one person cared at all and everyone acted annoyed and snarly except the casino security guy and the front desk staff at the Holiday Inn they were very concerned and nice and they loved the dog too. RR Pass Security even sent out an APB on the radio which was really cool. I figured Id take him home and make posters and keep trying(Ive had success in the past doing that) but I called BC Animal Control and they answered the phone!! Yes! I told them I wanted to take the dog home lol! But I brought him over there and he was reunited with his owners the next morning. The dog was obviously well cared for and very mellow and lovey and he had gotten out of their RV. The BC animal control was very nice and the dog looked happy to jump out and meet them there, he looked relaxed to be there, they posted him on facebook and a dozen karens commented that “someone should have let the RR pass and gas station know” and “did anyone even say anything” and that “they called the casino” and also judged the vacationing owners for the dog getting loose. RVs are easy for big dogs to slip out of and they always do that on vacation to go find their owners. Thank You BC Animal Control for saving the dog and getting him home. Thats what its all about.

Rude for no reason I was polite when talking to them. I was interested in getting a cat and had to wait 10 days just to find out that cat wasn’t available anymore. When I tried asking questions about what other cats were available the lady on the phone rudely replied “Well if you want a cat go look at a different animal shelter” before she hung up on me. I can’t believe the behavior from the staff how highly recommended you don’t come here as they let emotions get in the way of doing there jobs right

I encountered severe negligence at an animal shelter that failed to protect my two dogs in their custody. Despite providing undeniable evidence of ownership, the shelter's response was grossly inadequate, resulting in a prolonged six-week ordeal before any action was taken. This delay contributed to the distress and mistreatment of my dogs.

My efforts alone brought about their return. This incident has thoroughly eroded my trust in this facility and its personnel, highlighting a concerning lack of responsibility and care.
