I adopted tipsy last Friday. Shes the most loving, outgoing cat ive ever met. I got her for my spouse as he wanted an emotional support animal and somehow shes become mine. I cant even use the restroom without her following me. Her profile said she just wanted to feel safe and loved and i guess she can tell with me she is! Our family is overwhelmed with joy and so thankful for this organization. They made little money on this baby, and that shows they truly want their animals to have a good home.

I put my rating in favorite places. Like I said there, I was very pleased with everything about the place. It was clean, the staff members were very friendly. I liked the way a staff member showed us around and also let my grand daughter,Jaime Lynn Lilly Gentry and I take as much time as we wanted. I'll visit there more often. Also, the cages had the name, medication and surgery they had, but it also had the disposition of the animal. Very important!

My husband and I lost our lab after 17 years, our bulldog after 12 years. We want to rescue a dog for Christmas and went to project hope. We found the perfect dog for us. We were so excited. We wanted her so bad. Her name was Ava. The girl at the desk was rude and said just because you want her does not mean you get her. She had to be in quarantine for 10 days. First we had to submit an application and they would put it with the other applications. Then if we were “chosen” a committee would review all the applicants and and place her. We were to watch their web site and when she was posted we could put in an application. They don’t make calls. Adoption fee is $150.00 and we would gladly pay that. The application was unreal. Did we have a fenced yard? Were we keeping her inside or out. Would she be on a leash when outside.
They wanted the Name of our vet, 3 personal references, have we ever given a dog away and on and on! We did all they requested. We have yet to hear anything from them.
Well, no wonder the shelters are full. I am a school nurse, and it is easier to foster a child! My experience with this shelter made me feel like an unfit dog owner. I won’t donate to them and will never encourage anyone to go there.

To the person who gave the 1 star review, Jonetta Shank, you should be ashamed of yourself. The people at Project Hope genuinely care about all their animals and at times, even cry when they get adopted. If you think it's such a "nasty nasty place" then why don't you volunteer there and help make a difference instead of just writing reviews everywhere you go like your opinion matters so much. They do the best they can especially considering they are always in need of more help. Leaving a negative review, especially a ridiculous one like you did is hurting the poor animals more than anything so good job idiot.

Great shelter, don't pay attention to the one negative, backwoods ignorant comment below.

I kept trying to adopt a dog and could never get ahold of anyone and if by luck I did I was told oh she is in a foster home. Then find out 2 weeks later shes back well I asked again then was told she was brought back and put into their swatt program. Well again I fill out the paperwork and wait then for 2 months tried calling they never answer their phone so I leave a message dont get called back finally I got fed up and went their and was told she's been in a foster home for 2 weeks. I think they only adopt to people they know or who donate. They dont adopt to people who really want a pet
